GM will produce Cheap Cars

NEW DELHI - Tata Nano's presence as the world's cheapest car seemed to spur other manufacturers to offer vehicles with low prices.

In addition to Japanese manufacturers, automotive companies are now monster United States (USA) General Motors (GM) was intended to bring cheap cars in India.

As quoted from the site 4wheelsnews, Sunday (20/12/2009), GM is considering to launch the A1 segment car positioned below the Chevrolet Spark at a price of 3500 USD to 4000 USD.

For the sake of realizing his ambition, GM took Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation Group (SAIC) to focus on developing cars with affordable prices, including to Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa, and China.

"The first product to be released from the partnership with SAIC is the mini-van segment," said Director & Vice President GM India, P Balendran.

Baisi production will be done in Hong Kong and will serve the Indian market as well as several other countries in Southeast Asia.
